representing...

I am a lifelong social justice activist, an executive officer in the Windham/ Willimantic NAACP and founder of Willimantic Rainbow Connection, an LGBTQ+ group.  I currently serve on Windham’s Zoning Board of Appeals, and bring 15 years of public school experience to my political run.

Like all Green candidates, I only accept campaign contributions from real people, never from special interest groups. We need to stop begging for relief for working families and under-represented populations while casting a blind eye to corporate welfare. Instead, we can lead the way to change by truly representing the needs of our constituents.

people

The COVID pandemic has exposed the precariousness of life in the US. Without delay, we need Medicare for All, a $15 minimum wage with cost-of-living increases; and guaranteed human rights and justice for all. Dismantle and repair the damage from systemic racism. Protect LGBTQ+ people from discrimination. Ensure and expand women's rights. The influence of corporate money in politics must be abolished in favor of human based policy development.

peace

The US accounts for 37% of military spending worldwide, more than the next 7 highest-spending countries, and has engaged in continuous war that has harmed combatants and civilians, poisoned the environment, and destabilized governments. We need to redirect bloated military spending to schools and communities, and diversify our region's economy away from dependence on armament procurement toward a more resilient peace economy.

planet

Americans need a Green New Deal that would create millions of jobs by transitioning from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy and investing in public transit, sustainable agriculture, locally-controlled utilities and conservation of resources. End destructive energy extraction – fracking, tar sands, offshore drilling, mountaintop removal, and uranium mines – and protect our public lands, water supplies, biological diversity, parks and pollinators.
